The objective of this project was to examine the function of microinteractions and how they can engage and delight the user.
The Orphan Kitten Club is a nonprofit dedicated to both caring for abandoned kittens and providing shelters and individuals with the proper resources to do the same. In this project, I challenged myself to create microinteractions that could be used on the Orphan Kitten Club’s website to provide it with a fresh, lively feel and subsequently boost donor engagement.
I conducted this study on my own for purely educational purposes and this project bears no true affiliation with the Orphan Kitten Club.
My main goal with these animations was to make them feel like they were alive while still adhereing to a somewhat minimalist graphical style.
The current Orphan Kitten Club website uses many detailed, full-width photographs of their kittens, and I wanted to create interactions that matched the playful energy of these kittens without competing with them.
